Scouting is about character development and having confidence in yourself to Be Prepared! The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) is the largest youth organization in the nation with millions of youth members and adult leaders enrolled in over 100,000 local Scout units. You’ve joined a great organization, and we want to help you get started!
Our program is a family program, one that we hope will become part of your family. Our goal is that you will come to enjoy Scouting just as much as your child.
Most things you will need to know to get familiar with Scouting is available in online training modules through the my.scouting.org. Here’s how to get started:
Join our weekly email newsletter, visit an “like” our Facebook page, or attend your District’s monthly Roundtable meeting. Find your “District” then find your district’s Calendar to learn about upcoming events.
Our summer camps are some of the best in the country. Visit our Cub Scout camps here or our Scouts BSA camps here and join your Scout in the incredible summer camp experience!
Every Scouting Leader and every parent will not only have the opportunity to live vicariously through the eyes of children, Scouting can provide unique opportunities to deepen relationships and experience new adventures. Unlike may things in a child’s life, Scouting tends to be that thing where they get to do things with their parents, enhancing the parent-child relationship well into adulthood.
Every neighborhood is served by local adult volunteers and a professional Scouter who work together to coordinate year-round Scouting activities. You can find your local contact by visiting our Find your District page, or by calling 503.226.3423 and we’ll connect you with your local Scouting representative who can help you get started.
